I bought this to look at at pile of old coloured slides that I have found after clearing out my late brother's house. Looking at them again through the viewfinder brought back many happy memories.

Easy to set up ie put the batteries in. Very easy to use ie insert slide and push in to make a connection and then they are illuminated very brightly. Did everything I wanted to view my Grandma's old slides to decide which ones to get converted to a JPEG.

Over all not a bad scanner. Easy to use & move through different kinds of film. Picture quality of the scans is what I expected.

I used this the scan in about 500 old 35mm slides that my late Dad took back in the 1950's & 60s. Once in digital format, I manipulated some (using another SW package) to get rid of dust and do some color correction (due to aging film). I was then able to share all the digital photos with my siblings - who hadn't seen the slides in many years. This was well worth the price just to resurrect and preserve some memories.

After waiting much to long...like 30 yrs to finally start researching on how to convert my old slides to pictures so that I can put them on a disk, and SD card for safe keeping I came across this little buddy! After reading all the wonderful reviews I decided to give it a try. I must say...it has not disappointed me thus far! I've already done over a hundred slides! For the price, and what I was trying to do to preserve past memories....I won't complain. My buddy is working just fine!

Attached are two copies taken from slides over 50 years old! They haven't made it to Photoshop yet, but I am very pleased with the quality results from this inexpensive scanner. I am not a professional but it is wonderful to finally have some college memories in digital form. Yes, you do one at a time, but it's easy to do while watching TV!

This worked just as advertised. I have a shoebox of photo negatives dated 1944 and forward. After viewing literally hundreds of negatives and taking snapshots of many of them, I uploaded the photos to Facebook. Friends and family looked forward to seeing what photos I would be posting each day. Being the youngest of eight siblings, I did not know who some of the people were in the really old photos but family and friends did. It really was a blast reading all of the comments. My one regret is not ordering the larger machine, due to a few negatives being too large to slide into the opening. I did discover that you don’t need to use the provided trays, which allowed me to view many of those larger negatives. Only two negatives were too large for me to view without trimming people out of the photo. Perhaps one day I will order the larger machine to view those negatives.

This little thing is cool! I’ve had negatives and slides in boxes for up to 40+ years and have used converters, before to try and process them, but they were always kind of a pain to use, and slow. This is very easy to use and quick! I’ve only done 35mm with it, but it comes with 8mm 110 and 126 adapters, too.... sadly it won’t do 2 1/4 film, so I guess those will just have to be left in the box... I bought it at the price point, because I figured they were all pretty comparable, and this was the cheapest.... it does work ... enjoy!!

This gadget was simple enough that even I could use it! It enabled me to view my old strips of negatives and save them to a digital format. It also has different attachments that allowed me to convert my husband's old slides as well as the few larger, individual negatives that I had. There was an editing tool built into the converter, but I preferred to download them onto my computer first and edit there on a larger screen. Any problem with picture quality was due to the original negative, and not to the converter. I now have all my old photographs organized and saved to one USB stick. I'm sure that my daughter will much prefer inheriting that rather than my bookshelf of photo albums.

I was reluctant to purchase this scanner because of a few "not so good" reviews. But I know there are those that will complain about everything, so I made the purchase hoping for the best. This thing did a great job of scanning a ton of slides and a bunch of negatives. Considering the slides and negatives were from the 50's and 60's the quality was better than I expected. The only thing I found disappointing was I could not rotate slides either through the scanner or in the software. I could flip horizontal and vertical but not rotate. With slides that were more portrait than landscape I had to basically use another graphics program in order to rotate. I ended up using that other program to post process all of the scans. Not a deal breaker as far as I'm concerned. In the long run this unit was worth the money.

I was skeptical at the quality for the price, but am quite pleasantly satisfied with this little "guys" performance! Ease of use and quality for the price is great! I use it in conjunction with Photoshop and my pics are very satisfying. I've got no problem with recommending this slide scanner to the home novice.
