    This is nice for charging odd numbers of batteries. I have a dozen or more chargers for Ni-MH and Ni-CAD batteries, and they work very well for the most part. I bought this one because three of my camera flash units use 5 AA batteries, and the chargers (including this one) are all made to hold 4. THIS one, however, has four independent charging slots, so I can charge the odd 5th batteries in it while the others are charged together in older 4-cell chargers. I haven't changed it from the default lower amperage charging values yet because I haven't ever been in a hurry since I bought it. I think the default from the factory is to charge at 500ma.

    I have been using this charger for 3 days now and the charger itself works very good. The reason for the 2 stars is that it has already developed a problem, one digit on port 2 does not work. I want to see the whole display as I want to read the battery capacity. I was expecting a better quality product.

    Works great. I like that it tells you how many mAh was put into the battery when done charging. It's a true smart charger that charges each battery individually and you can set different charging parameters for each battery independently. Love that feature.
